Medical Coding is a Sensible Career Option
I have been kind of sad this week, because my best work buddy is going to be leaving the company. We just started as customer service reps about two months ago, and she is already leaving. She has been taking an icd-10-pcs course in the evenings and has finally gotten her certificate. She lives about an hour and a half away from here, and she found a job closer to home. It pays a good bit better, too. Insurance has been a pretty stable field to work in, even in these rough times, and doctors and hospitals need medical coders to sort through the jumble that is our insurance industry. When she told me what she would be doing, I thought it might be something to look into. Anything is better than working customer service all day. I might even have a chance to contract work from home, so I would not have to even sit in an office.
